Spiritual Energy is that which cannot be tangibly seen, yet can be felt by the sensitive. It is also the ethereal property of consciousness.
You probably have heard of energy being used to describe your mood. However, in spiritual circles it means something very different. It is through your spiritual energy that you sense, feel and intuit the world around you.
Auras
We are all believed to be surrounded by an energy field known as our aura. It’s said to have seven layers, with each layer correlating to a different part of our physical or emotional health.
The colour of your aura is a good indicator of how healthy you are and also reflects your current thoughts, feelings and emotions. Aura colours may change by the week, day or hour – especially if your mood is up or down.
It’s also thought that if a non-embodied spiritual identity wants to communicate with you they will ‘press’ on your aura and this pressure manifests as a particular colour in the auric field. This type of communication is most commonly associated with psychics or mediums.

Cemeteries are inherently spiritual spaces, inviting contemplation of life, death, and the mysteries of existence. The reminder of mortality encourages us to reflect on our own impermanence, fostering greater empathy for those around us and a deeper appreciation for the gift of life itself.
Every cemetery has a head spirit, which acts as a sort of metaphysical gatekeeper for the graveyard. These spirits act like a combination of bouncer and elder, preventing the disrespectful from pestering innocent spirits and offering insight when approached correctly.
They can also be a good place to perform trance work or astral travel, as they have a unique liminal quality that makes them neither fully places of the living nor entirely places of the dead. This can be a powerful setting for magicks that involve changes or transitions, although the chthonic energies found in many cemeteries can darken these spells, so be careful. Likewise, make sure to bring appropriate clothing and footwear for working in a cemetery.
Life
Spiritual energy is what allows you to feel, sense and intuit everything around you. It is the reason you can feel a tense atmosphere, sense danger and be left feeling drained by a needy friend.
You produce spiritual energy every time you act on higher aspirations of caring, gratitude, compassion, humility and love. You also produce it during meditation or other forms of spiritual practice.
Various experiments and theories support the existence of spiritual energy. For example, Japanese researcher Masaru Emoto froze water molecules and rice grains exposed to different words, music and prayers. He found that the water molecules and rice grains absorbed and resonated with the positive messages, while the negative ones didn’t. Other scientists have performed similar tests. The results are convincing. The concept of soul or spiritual energy has been a part of many cultures and religious traditions throughout history, influencing practices from healing to spiritual enlightenment. It has been called by many names: in the Indian Vedanta tradition, brahman; in Mahayana Buddhism, dharmakaya; in ancient Greek philosophy, pneuma; and in mystical traditions, God.
Death
